The Odeon

In Newton Abbot there were only two cinemas and each one would only show one film unlike today where you get multi screens.  The show would consist of a short film, then the adverts by Pearl and Dean followed by the main film.  If you went in after the film had started then you would sit there until it came around again.  If you wanted to you could stay and watch the whole thing through again.  They used to offer Saturday morning pictures for Children which were quite good and a lot of fun.
